A Danish manufacturer does not mean easier access
A medicine linked to a Danish manufacturer is not available in Denmark without an assessment, and nobody guarantees a lower price there. Check the Danish Medicines Agency's product information for the exact brand, formulation and presentation. Ask a pharmacist which product will be dispensed and whether stock is available now. Authorisation and supply are different questions, whatever the manufacturer's local links.
Agree the clinical and financial plan
Ask your prescriber what treatment goal suits you and how progress and tolerability will be reviewed. Confirm reimbursement for your indication separately. A medicine listed in a database is no promise of public payment. If you buy privately, compare full ongoing costs at your prescribed strength. Ask whether consultations, dispensing and delivery are included, and whether a subscription keeps charging if the medicine cannot be supplied.
Check travel and distance-sale conditions
A seller delivering from Denmark should name the dispensing pharmacy and explain where the pharmacy is authorised to supply. An EU pharmacy logo alone gives no permission for an overseas order. If you carry your own supply into Denmark or take a purchase elsewhere, check the relevant national travel and import rules. Quantity, documents and the way you enter the country matter on top of product approval.
Keep a clear treatment record
Keep the generic name, presentation, current strength and last dose to hand if a new clinician takes over. Ask for directions for the actual device, since a pen used elsewhere may work differently. For refrigerated products, discuss delivery delays and safe storage with the pharmacy. If a shortage leads to a suggested replacement, let the prescriber decide. A familiar brand name says nothing about dose equivalence.
Before you buy in Denmark
Check the current product information with the Danish Medicines Agency before you buy. Confirm the exact product and indication for Mounjaro, Wegovy injection, Wegovy tablets or Foundayo. Approval, prescription, reimbursement, pharmacy stock and personal import permission are separate decisions in Denmark.
- Ask a Danish clinician which product suits you and whether your treatment history is enough for an assessment.
- Ask for the full cost of consultations, dispensing and delivery before you commit to ongoing treatment.
- Keep the original packaging, the prescription and the dispensing record. Ask the pharmacist about a damaged parcel or uncertain storage before using the medicine.
