Follow HSA's guidance for personal medicines
HSA explains when travellers need approval for personal medicines and which substances are banned. If your medicine needs no approval and is not banned, you may bring up to three months' supply. You need a prescription or a doctor's letter from your home country. The medicine must stay in its original, properly labelled packaging. HSA states you cannot bring more than three months' supply under this traveller allowance.
Check the exact ingredient and equipment
Run the HSA check for your own medicine. A brand name alone will not tell you the answer. Prescription-only status differs from controlled status. Check needles and other devices too, especially when they come packed apart from the medicine. If you are unsure whether your product fits the guidance, ask HSA before you leave and keep the reply with your medical papers.
Getting a prescription in Singapore
For a Singapore prescription, ask a locally registered clinician and pharmacist about the product, its approved use and current stock. Permission to bring your own medicine does not mean you can buy the same formulation in Singapore. A medicine registered in Singapore still carries the same travel paperwork rules. Ask for a full cost breakdown and confirm your insurance cover before you start a programme.
Plan for stopovers and longer stays
Work out whether you are in transit or entering Singapore, and read the official rules for your case. Do not assume transit frees you from every requirement. For a longer stay, set up local care before your own supply runs out. Singapore's heat makes a storage plan worthwhile. Ask the pharmacist about airport transfers, hotel storage and what to do if your medicine may have overheated.
Check the product with HSA before you buy
Confirm the exact product and its approved use with HSA before buying Mounjaro, Wegovy injection, Wegovy tablets or Foundayo in Singapore. Approval, clinical suitability, insurance cover, pharmacy stock and import permission each need their own check.
- Ask a clinician in Singapore which product suits you and whether your treatment history is enough for an assessment.
- Get the full cost in writing, covering consultations, dispensing and delivery, before you sign up to ongoing treatment.
- Keep the labelled packaging, the prescription and the dispensing record. Show any damaged parcel or medicine with an unclear storage history to the pharmacist before you use it.
Sources
Your own medicine leaflet and prescriber come first. A source from another country does not mean the same rule applies in the UK.
